| The Napa/Solano/Contra Costa Educational Support Team has extensive, hands-on, experience in assisting high priority schools and districts to improve student achievement. Over the past 7 years, our team has worked successfully with more than 42 school sites in 23 districts throughout California. We have worked with dozens of other schools through our pre-DAIT, SAIT, and Program Improvement work.
District LeadershipThe Napa/Solano/Contra Costa Educational Support Team has provided DAIT and pre-DAIT support to more than seven districts. In 2007-2008 our team, in conjunction with the Bay Region IV consortium, partnered with Napa Valley Unified School District to participate in the CDE sponsored DAIT Pilot program. Our Team also took a lead role in the DAIT Regional Capacity Building Project. Over the years, our team has also worked to support a number of districts as they have navigated the Program Improvement process.
From Challenge To OpportunityEntering state-mandated sanctions can be an unpleasant, frightening, and confusing experience, and yet, with the right guidance being identified as a Program Improvement district or school can turn into a positive experience. In just two or three short years, many of our State monitored schools become models for school success in their district. Teachers and administrators may find the experience to be challenging, and it can also be rewarding and personally enriching to see student learning improve. Even sites and districts that were initially unhappy to enter DAIT, SAIT or PI indicated in independent evaluations that they “were sorry to see the Napa/Solano/Contra Costa Educational Support Team leave” when the site successfully exited sanctions.
